FIF Pop-up Store FIF x LOUSY’S MAUS HAUS
2020
Groovy, vibrant and definitely eye catching, FIF rang in Chinese New Year with local street Lousy for a very special art space “Maus Haus” in Wan Chai, Lee Tung Avenue that ran from 23 January to March 2020. The space was decked in Lousy’s signature neon pink and his funky wall-to-wall artwork. “Maus Haus” (Mouse House) features “有米鼠” (Prosperous Mouse), a festive character created by the artist just for the occasion. The electric pink chosen by Lousy captured the joyous spirit of the celebrations between Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day. Visitors could take home personalized limited-edition Lousy tote bags in exchange for a HK$88. On-site tote bag silk-screen printing stations was available between 23-24 January for Chinese New Year totes, and 8-9 February for Valentine’s day totes. In the spirit of supporting local artist, art forms and Chinese New Year, we invited renowned columnist and artist Benny Li Shun Yan(李純恩) who created on-site Fai Chun (traditional Chinese New Year banners) to mark the last day of Year of the Pig. Visitors could donate any amount they wish to receive a unique Fai Chun from the artist. Street Art and Chinese calligraphy are integral to Hong Kong’s arts and cultural heritage, through FIF’s Maus Haus project, we hope to showcase local artists, art-forms and to teach the community about them. All proceeds from the sale of the bags and donations from the Fai Chun demonstration were donated to FIF, to support our mission uplift the community.
